Thanks for all the positive feedback! I will post some additional photos of an installation where we used beetle kill tongue and groove to anchor a feature wall in a living room. It isn't quite complete but will be soon.

This is a cool new take on the Starbucks coffee shop design, but it's no accident that it's not branded with Starbucks logos. This is one of their stealth stores, meant to perhaps capture some of the market that would rather patronize what would appear to be a mom & pop coffee store rather than a corporate chain. I didn't include the link to avoid getting this comment caught in a spam filter, but just google 'starbucks stealth seattle coffee shop'

Very cool! I'd not seen or heard about this before!
I definitely like the look **a lot**. Much, much more so than their current style.

It's interesting to see beatle kill wood being used more and more now days in interior design. When we remodeled our bathroom in 1984 (yes, I know that was ages ago!), we actually used beatle kill wood. It was very "new" at the time, but we used it because it was so much more economical than other wood. I loved the grey appearance and swirles of the wood. Who'd have guessed we were ahead of the times for design back then. We really didn't have any idea what the bark beetle was, or how destructive it was going to become. We still love it's appearance!

I especially liked the top photo of the kitchen, that is very impressive.

We've seen some a couple instances of very nice use of beetlekill in homes here in Summit County and I am interested to see if this will eventually become a very big trend in the area.

I've got to that I would be a little leary with all the different hype happening around solar. After thinking about quite a lot of programs and get options my spouce and i thought to take the plunge. We finished up getting solar without money down and now we immediatly started putting money aside the very first month is was installed. I have to admit the benefits of solar appear to be real and I am happy we thought to proceed with it.

We are a Colorado-based furniture design and manufacturing company. We use beetle-kill in a relatively new line of furniture we have introduced. Beetle kill is an interesting wood and with the right design can make beautiful high end furniture.

I love seeing interior designers, especially in the Rockies, incorporating this wood into their work. :-)

The success of our townhome as both a vacation home and rental was founded on us engaging you to do the very major renovation in 2008. It has been our great pleasure to have gained a friendship too, and we delight in catching up with you each year!

I always thought black paint was a definite 'no' and never used it anywhere. But after seeing your photos, i realize how adding small bits to rooms can make rooms more elegant, how eye-opening for me!! Maybe I shouldn't rule out things completely and be more open! Thank you for this, i think I already know a couple spots in my house where I can use a splash of black (i never thought I would say that!)
